Atonality vs Tonality

Atonal work has always fascinated me. Reminiscent of Bartok’s work that I’m more familiar with. Aggressive, unconfined, dissonant, and completely unpredictable, makes it unlike any typical harmonic progressional work most of us are used to hearing and listening. Basically what I’m saying is, as lost as it sounds, its so fucking complex that to even begin understanding it, you’d shoot yourself. Figuring out chord progressions is easy, this ain’t; you never know where its gonna go unless…
